Since the dawn of time, the Olive tree has been part of Mediterranean landscape. In Lebanon, it is present in most of the territory, In the village of Bchaaleh for example some olive trees are over 4,000 years old (Source-Lebanese Ministry of Tourism). Because of its importance in the culture, Olive oil is nicknamed “Green Gold” in some villages.
L’artisan du Liban has created a tableware collection inspired by the olive tree because of its integral part in our cultural heritage and culinary traditions.
The distinctive differentiating trait of the collection is the molded brass olive branch that was crafted using real twigs. Hassan, whose micro-enterprise was initiated by L’artisan du Liban, more than 25 years ago, picked these branches from his village in the south, and transformed it into an elegant decorative item using the molded brass branch and traditional hammering method. The objects in the series can be used as both tableware and decorative items.
